Product News: UniVent 1375AW Series High Performing Vent

Alumicor announces its new UniVent 1375AW Series high-performance insert vent, including project-out awnings and casements, and project-in hoppers and casements. These operable vents are engineered to complement and seamlessly integrate within mid- to high-rise commercial buildings’ windows, storefront and curtainwall systems.

Alumicor’s UniVent 1375AW Series are tested to meet AW Performance Class, the most stringent performance and durability requirements of North American Fenestration Standard /Specification for windows, doors, and skylights (NAFS-17) plus the A440S1-19 Canadian supplement. This industry standard includes high-performance criteria for air, water and structural integrity, thermal cycling and lifecycle testing to 4,000 operating cycles.

Maximizing design flexibility, all of Alumicor’s UniVent 1375AW vent configurations can accommodate either dual- or triple-pane insulating glass units (IGUs). The windows’ frame depth is 69.85mm (2-3/4 inches) for dual-glazed and 87.13mm (3-7/16 inches) for triple-glazed. Dimensions span up to 182.8.8mm by 914.4mm (72 by 36 inches) for hoppers, and up to 914.4mm by 1574.8mm (36 by 62 inches) for casements.

Demonstrating their high thermal performance, Alumicor’s UniVent 1375AW Series are thermally broken with polyamide strut and provide a U-factor of 2.10 W/m²•K with dual-glazed IGUs and 1.48 W/m²•K with triple-glazed, per NFRC 102-2020. A frame temperature Index (If) of 65 per CSA A440.2/A440.3 also can be achieved in combination with triple-pane IGUs.

Both project-out and project-in UniVent 1375AW Series by Alumicor feature mitered corners and multi-point locks as standard, with custodial locks upon request. Project-out hardware options include roto operators, cam handles, ADA-compliant handles and more.

Screens may be ordered and finished to match the window frame. The aluminum framing is available in standard anodized or in a variety of paint finishes. Specialty finishes, custom colours and dual finishes also may be specified.
