Royal Alberta Museum (RAM)

Description

The Royal Alberta Museum in Edmonton, Alberta, features Alumicor’s ThermaWall 2600 aluminum-framed, stick-built, thermally broken, curtainwall. With triple-glazed IGUs and all non-metallic spacer, the curtainwall can achieve a total system U-factor of 1.8 W/m²•K (0.32 Btu/hr•ft²•°F). The 38,926 m² (419,000 ft2) museum’s design-build team was included architectural firms DIALOG and Lundholm Associates, design-build contractor The Ledcor Group of Companies, and dealer Flynn Group of Companies. The teamwork and resulting project won a Canadian Design-Build Institute (CDBI) Award of Excellence.
