Best Practice Safety Award
Alumicor Halifax has won the Best Practice Safety Award, awarded in May by the Nova Scotia Construction Safety Association (NSCSA).
This award is given to a company who demonstrates a method or technique that has consistently shown results superior to those achieved with other means. Applications are sent to the NSCSA, who review the achievements and determine the winner of the award.
“To us, it represents a testament to, not only the entire team in Halifax and the diligent work done on a daily basis to ensure we maintain a safe work environment, but also to Sheldon Royce, Manager Operational Excellence, who assisted us by performing regular safety audits and working with us on improvement plans.
Appropriate PPE, daily 5S checks, monthly safety audits, employee training, joint health & safety committee meetings & corporate safety audits are all components of Alumicor’s robust safety program that has contributed to a reduction in the frequency of recordable incidents.
Again, thank you to the Alumicor Team for your contributions that helped win the 2015 NSCSA award for best practice in Safety.”
– John O’Connell, Senior Operations Manager
