After a successful 33-year career with Alumicor, André Bélanger has retired. As part of this planned succession, Nicolas Vrkic continues working directly with our customers in Québec.

“We deeply appreciate André’s many years of service to Alumicor and to the industry overall. His outstanding contributions will have a lasting impact on our business, our customers and all who have worked with him,” said Slavko Sehovac, General Manager, Alumicor. “Nicolas carries forward the knowledge and best practices André initiated and instilled in our team.”

André began his career with Alumicor in 1993 as a sales representative for Québec and the Ottawa region. Shortly after, he was involved directly in opening Alumicor’s Montreal plant, where he served as branch manager for 25 years. He was promoted to Vice President of Sales for the eastern region and later, for Québec. His collaborative approach built and strengthened relationships throughout the territory and across the industry.

Beyond his leadership within Alumicor, André has been an active of member of Association de vitrerie et fenestration du Québec (AVFQ) since 1993, and with Construction Specifications Canada/Devis de Construction Canada (CSC-DCC) since 2013.

“I am very proud of having identified and recruited employees that were significant in the evolution of Alumicor through the years. It’s been an honor to have led and assisted them to become important players in the construction industry in Québec and beyond.”

During André’s long career at Alumicor, he contributed to the success of colleagues and customers, as well as Canada’s skylines and communities. He’s been involved in hundreds of projects. He said some of the most memorable buildings have included:

“Just to name a few,” he humbly added.

André will take a well-deserved pause to enjoy the cottage life and to spend time with his family and friends on the pickleball courts, golf courses and bike paths.

“It was a memorable career,” shared André. “I will be forever thankful and have the utmost respect to all the colleagues and mentors that assisted me through the years. I also have deep gratitude to all our customers and architects for their trust, friendship, support and loyalty over the years. I wish them continued success and happiness for the future.”
